§ 51.009. Severability

Sec. IX.

1. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance [part] is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct, and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion hereof.

2. This chapter [part] does not cease to be effective upon expiration of the franchise or change in the identity of the grantee.

This ordinance [part] shall therefore take effect and be in force upon its passage.
